Job Duties: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelors or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Position Requires:

Position requires one (1) year experience in the following:

Developing test plans and test cases for system-level testing;

Executing test cases;

Performing root cause and debugging;

Post-silicon PCIe functional validation;

Validation and debug of memory modules;

Graphics IPs;

GPU or CPU yield performance;

Windows or Linux environments; and

PCIe Gen 5.
