Fence Installer / Fence Erector

Duties:
Discuss fence procedures and follow directions from project foreman.
Establish location for fence in safe locations after locates are complete.
Follow plans, drawings or directions to measure and lay out fence lines, post placement etc. to specifications.
Load, unload, identify and distribute building materials to appropriate locations.
Operate a variety of small equipment and tools in order to preform job.
Dig and tamp posts using hand tools, power tools and power-driven augers.
Set or pound metal or wood posts in varied ground conditions.
Mix and pour concrete at base of posts, or tamp soil to set posts.
Make rails for fences by sawing lumber or cutting metal to required lengths.
Stretch a variety of wire and attach to posts using hammers, pliers and other tools.
Assemble and install gates in proper position.
Weld metal parts for gates, corrals, H-braces and other possible fence elements.
Other duties as required.
Ability Requirements:
Performing physical activities that require use of arms legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing , walking, stooping and handling materials.
Lift arms above shoulders for moving and lifting light to heavy objects.
Must have good hand-eye coordination and quick reaction time.
Adequate sight and hearing to perform duties safely.
Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
Learn job related functions through oral communication and observation with on-the-job training.
Must be able to wear hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective equipment while being alert and looking out for personal safety and safety of others.
Maintain a positive attitude, work cooperatively with others, arrive at determined site location on time and have regular communication with supervisor about scheduling.
Preferred Skills:
-Prior construction experience
-Welding experience
-CDL and/or hauling experience
-Equipment operating experience
$65.00 per hour - Total Compensation
Base Rate: $33.75/hour
Fringe Benefits: $31.25/hour
Fringe benefits may be provided in the form of bona fide benefits (such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and training programs) or paid as additional cash compensation.
Performance Expectations:
Cooperation with supervisor and co-workers on job site, i.e., mutual respect and teamwork
Absences and Tardiness: Be on time or early prepared for work. If you will be more than five minutes late call supervisor. Call supervisor if you are unable to attend work prior to scheduled meeting time and arrange scheduled time off as early as possible or at least one week in advance.
Work Attire: Wear appropriate attire, i.e., work boots, gloves, pants and other job specific personal protective equipment, eye protection, hard hat, safety vest etc. Be prepared for outdoor elements.
