Construction Project Manager
Job Description

The role primarily involves overseeing and coordinating onsite construction activities at hospitals and clinics. You will be responsible for enforcing safety protocols, ensuring subcontractors and vendors are properly badged, and that general personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements are followed. Additionally, you will submit pre-construction risk assessments (PCRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) for the end client while monitoring approved infection control risk assessments (ICRA) and ILSM protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate onsite construction activities at hospitals and clinics.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure subcontractors/vendors are properly badged.
  • Ensure compliance with general PPE requirements.
  • Submit pre-construction risk assessments (PCRA) and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) for the end client.
  • Monitor approved infection control risk assessments (ICRA) and interim life safety measures (ILSM) protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of project sites.
  • Review contractors site-specific safety plans for managed projects.
Essential Skills
  • 5-10+ years of experience in hospital, healthcare, or medical construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, specifically) and safety management software.
  • Experience with PCRA, ILSM, ICRA reports in a hospital setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Expertise in construction management, hospital construction, and construction safety.
  • Skills in site safety, construction oversight, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Competency in construction documentation, punch lists, quality control, site construction, site planning, and project scheduling.
  • Experience with change orders, renovations, construction planning, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and project management.
Work Environment

This position is entirely onsite at Stroger Hospital in Chicago, located at 1969 W Ogden Ave, Chicago, IL. There is a possibility to be assigned to or visit other hospitals and clinics under the Cook County umbrella, all located within Cook County. The hospitals have designated working spaces dedicated for project management and collaboration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $64.90/hr.
