What You Will Do
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to work onsite at our North Berwick, Maine campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Support activities and technologies related to commercial and military gas turbine hardware. Hardware responsibilities include components found in the High-Pressure Turbine and Low-Pressure Turbine.
- Support the development of project plans, meet/maintain schedules and budgets, track progress, identify, recommend and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations; forecast project revenues, monitors costs and re-estimates project costs to maximize project profitability and ensure business targets are met.
- Analyze data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work.
- Facilitate project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
- Oversee and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
- Meet program schedules and budgets and maintains the integrated master schedules for project(s).
- Travel up to 10%
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in aerospace or defense industries.
- Project Engineering or a combination of experience in analytical mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Experience and understanding of project management and planning.
- Ability to effectively leverage teams across organizations to accomplish goals.
- Proficient with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
- Outstanding cross discipline communication skills

The North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) is responsible for the design, development, field support, and production support of various compressor and turbine components for both military and commercial engines. This includes fixed metal stators and cases, blade outer air seals and supports, tangential on-board injectors, vane supports, and air seals.
Technical disciplines in NBEC include Project, Design, Structures, Durability, Aero Thermal Systems, Aftermarket Sustainment Engineering, Engineering Support to Operations, Product Definition, and Purchased Material Control.
