Job Summary: North Shore Homes is looking to add to our growing team. As an established company, we are focused on the quality of work and craftsmanship as well as maintaining the great culture we have built over the years. We are looking for someone who is willing to continually grow with us, add value, and take on various tasks on projects ranging from new custom homes to kitchen remodels. The majority of our projects are new high-end custom homes. Detail and quality of work are extremely important.
JOB BRIEF
We are seeking a reliable Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager at our company, you will be responsible for overseeing, planning, managing, and tracking the progress of our construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Oversee all on-site and off-site constructions to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
- Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Managing and motivating site foremen and teams.
- Ensuring the construction process starts and ends on time, ensuring daily and weekly deadlines are met.
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner.
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
CONSTRUCTION MANAGER REQUIREMENTS
- Proven working experience in construction project management or a similar role
- A strong understanding of construction project management processes
- Experience with construction project management software packages i.e.; BuilderTrend / Trello
- Comfort and proficiency in using computers and managing emails on a daily basis
- Ability to effectively plan and understand the overall scope of a project
- Comprehensive knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
- Competence in managing conflicts and crises
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Access to a smartphone
- Valid Driver's license
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
