The ideal candidate is well versed in various aspects of roadway design and is comfortable managing the design of small projects from start to finish. As a Transportation Civil Engineering Associate Project Manager you will be joining a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client's ever evolving project needs. This opportunity would require 5 days a week working out of the IDOT District 1 Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL . Key Responsibilities Assist IDOT personnel in the Bureau of Design for Phase II projects with various project management tasks Ensure plans for highway improvements are designed in accordance with departmental policies, specifications, procedures and accepted engineering principles Work includes engineering, technical, management and project support to assist in bringing projects to completion as expeditiously as possible Coordination for environmental clearances, right-of-way, utilities and permits Prepare agreements between IDOT and local agencies Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering 6-10 years of experience working on civil transportation centric design projects Possess phase I/II design experience for state agencies and local municipalities PE license in IL Be willing/have the ability to prepare the designs themselves should staffing availability and schedule dictate as such Proficient with ProjectWise , MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer Proficiency in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam and/or Adobe Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms Possess good organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree(s) Familiarity with contract set-up Familiarity with proposal preparation Experience working with IDOT, Tollway, Cook County and City of Chicago Experience designing and managing the preparation of project reports, plans, specifications and estimates for local municipalities Permitting experience Utility coordination experience Benefits We offer Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans 401K, Paid Maternity Leave, Competitive PTO Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and more Sponsorship and relocation assistance is not available for this opportunity.
