Job Summary
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is seeking a senior-level electrical engineer to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) support for our Central Region Power Delivery Substation Departments based in our Minneapolis office located in Burnsville, Minnesota. This role offers flexibility with remote, hybrid, or in-office work arrangements; however, candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the office.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations
One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling
Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices
Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner
Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution
Occasional travel will be required
Required Education/Experience
Ability to function as a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer based in our Minneapolis, Minnesota office and specializing in QA/QC
BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option
Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards
Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team
Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently
Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
Desired Education/Experience
10 years experience in utility substation design is preferred
Professional Engineering license (PE)
Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients
Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design

Base Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
