Overview

The Single Family Supervisor is responsible for overseeing residential electrical construction projects to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence. This role involves leading field crews, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and company standards. The Supervisor does not typically perform hands-on electrical work but must have the knowledge and ability to step in if necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily on-site construction activities related to electrical systems in single-family homes.

  • Manage and schedule field teams, subcontractors, and resources to meet project timelines.

  • Monitor work for safety, quality, code compliance, and adherence to company standards.

  • Conduct site inspections and job walk-throughs; provide feedback and direction to field teams.

  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, inspectors, and customers to ensure smooth operations.

  • Review job progress and provide timely updates and reporting to leadership.

  • Coach and mentor crew members; assist with performance management and training.

  • Ensure documentation, time reporting, and safety logs are accurate and submitted on time.

  • Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and all applicable OSHA and NEC codes.

Specific Qualifications Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.

  • Journeyman (as required by state/local jurisdiction).

  • 4+ years of experience in residential electrical work, including supervisory responsibilities.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Must pass background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of NEC codes, safety practices, and residential wiring standards.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Basic computer literacy including email, Excel, Word, and job management systems.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

Working Conditions
  • Regular travel to job sites required (within assigned region).

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate active job sites, including stairs and uneven surfaces.

  • May work in varying weather conditions and environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs. required; must be able to climb ladders and use hand/power tools as needed.

  • Standard work schedule is Monday–Friday with flexibility for early mornings, overtime, or weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.

  • Capable of working in high heat or cold temperatures when outdoors or in unfinished buildings.

  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to safely supervise jobsite activities.

  • Manual dexterity for occasional use of hand tools and equipment.

  • Capable of operating a motor vehicle for site visits and transporting materials.
