Plumber I/II/III

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all plumbing, gas/steam piping, and fixtures.

Final title, salary grade, and starting salary will be set based upon the successful applicant's education and experience.

• Install, maintain, and repair all plumbing;
• Install, maintain, and repair gas boilers and piping;
• Repair valves and piping on all heating and cooling systems;
• Install, maintain, and repair sprinkler systems;
• Perform welding, brazing, and soldering;
• Clean, maintain, and ensure proper chemical levels in fountains;
• Clean and keep all roof drains open;
• Remain on call for emergencies;
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

To be determined. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of high school diploma/equivalent, required;
• Plumber I High school diploma/equivalent + one to three years of plumbing experience required;
• Plumber II High school diploma/equivalent + three to five years of plumbing experience required
• Plumber III High school diploma/equivalent + five or more years of plumbing experience required.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Current, valid drivers license, required.

• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse array of students, faculty, staff, vendors, and the general public;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Basic computer skills;
• Ability to troubleshoot and utilize critical-thinking skills;
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction;
• Basic knowledge of computerized work order systems.
• Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of trade;
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the plumbing trade;
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions;
• Ability to keep simple records.
