Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their R&D team. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and support of diagnostic systems and electromechanical components in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, experience with complex assemblies, and a track record of bringing products from concept through development and into manufacturing. This is a hands-on engineering role that also involves cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:-
Serve as an individual contributor or technical lead on R&D projects.

Design and develop new test methods, components, and sub-systems.

Support design control activities including documentation, risk analysis, and verification.

Analyze data, identify trends, and recommend next steps.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in hardware, software, and systems engineering.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred).

7+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in lab automation, robotics, or medical devices.

Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo preferred), and knowledge of simulation tools.

Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and DFM/DFA practices.

Experience designing motion systems, precision fluidics, and thermal management solutions.

Familiarity with medical device quality systems and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).

Background in IVD product development.

Experience with robotic systems or motion control.

Involvement across the full product development lifecycle.

Technical leadership or mentoring experience.
