Mid-to-Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development

Location: DC Metro Area – Maryland Suburbs

Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

This role is ideal for an experienced, technically sharp engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take ownership of diverse and impactful land development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of land development projects across multiple jurisdictions

  • Serve as the technical expert and mentor within the engineering team

  • Manage client communication, permitting processes, and agency coordination

  • Prepare detailed site and subdivision plans for commercial, residential, and industrial developments, including:

    • Stormwater management and storm sewer systems

    • Sanitary sewer and water distribution design

    • Roadway layout and ADA-compliant grading

    • Erosion & sediment control planning

  • Guide projects through entitlement, bonding, and permitting stages

  • Participate in rezoning efforts, preliminary plats, and infill lot grading

  • Represent the firm in client meetings and occasional public hearings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (PE preferred)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required

  • Experience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, or similar software

  • Strong communication and project management skills

  • Knowledge of Charles County and Prince George’s County land development processes preferred

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead technical teams
