Job Title: Structural Engineer
- Weekly Schedule: (M-Th) 6:00am-4:30pm
Position Overview:
- Seeking a Structural Engineer who is experienced in practice of engineering in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
- Typical duties will consist of evaluating existing structures, designing modifications to existing facilities, supporting piping, lifting and rigging industrial equipment.
- Analyze a portion of existing structure to see if it can accommodate a load not anticipated.
- Help design a rigging plan to rig this piece of equipment. Will not need to develop their own drawings -hand off plans to drafting and design team.
- Optimization work opportunities - boiler design (equipment supports or piping supports for new equipment design).
- The position will require work as a member of a project team.
Skill & Qualifications:
- Must be capable of passing a background check, drug test, and being granted a DOE security clearance.
- 5+ years of experience in design of steel, reinforced concrete and masonry structures.
- Familiar with Seismic design using Equivalent Lateral Force procedures in IBC and ASCE 7.
- Proficient with the following software: MathCAD, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD (basic working knowledge), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Knowledgeable with the following design codes: AISC (ASD,LRFD), ACI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
