Job Description

We are a multi-discipline engineering consulting firm seeking a Civil Project Engineer with over five years of experience in supporting light commercial and residential land development projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing and supporting the design and engineering for site development, planning, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewers, water systems, low impact development, and feasibility studies. The candidate must possess skills in designing within AutoCAD Civil 3D and utilizing stormwater modeling software. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with CAD drafting staff and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Produce and support design and engineering for site development projects.
• Conduct site planning, grading, and storm drainage design.
• Design sanitary sewers and water systems.
• Implement low impact development strategies and conduct feasibility studies.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software.
• Collaborate with CAD drafting staff and mentor junior engineers.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of civil design experience specific to site development.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in determining jurisdictional requirements.
• Ability to write Technical Information Reports.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Design expertise in Storm Water Design, calculations, and software programs.
• Ability to create Grading Plans, Sewer, and Water Plans.
• Knowledge of Storm Water Conveyance and Detention Calculations.
• Familiarity with local codes for Western Washington preferred.
• Understanding of modeling software such as Storm Shed, WWHM, and Western Washington Stormwater Manual.

Work Environment

Our work environment offers a family-oriented, small office feel where you will be in the office four days a week, either working four ten-hour days or from home on Fridays. The position involves mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with CAD staff. We prioritize work-life balance, maintaining a consistent 40-hour work week and only working overtime when necessary. This environment fosters a lifestyle rather than just a job, encouraging ambitious individuals to progress quickly based on ability rather than tenure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $50.00/hr.
