As a Facilities & Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for procurement and implementation of material handling equipment for new vehicle launch programs. Procurement activities include creating equipment bid packages, review, evaluation and summarizing of supplier bids, and making supplier selection recommendations. You will manage the vendor change process and establish maintenance procedures for purchased equipment. Working with facilities team to make area improvements to layouts and logistics areas.
You Will:
- Develop specification package SOW (Scope of work) according to assembly line, sequencing areas & warehouse requirements.
- Responsible for procurement and implementation of material handling equipment for new vehicle launch programs.
- Procurement activities include creating equipment bid packages, vendor clarifications, review, evaluation and summarizing of supplier bids, and making supplier selection recommendations.
- Prepare documentation to create purchase requisitions, purchase order follow up & project timeline development
- Specification activities include verifying that supplier equipment meets corporate & plant standards, managing equipment design, build, buy-off, installation and start-up.
- Equipment types managed include PIVs, Pallet Racking, Tube & Joint, Static Stands, Tophat Dollies, lineside kitting racks, and Material Display Equipment.
- Create timelines, track and manage MFE program funding including funds available, committed, and spent for material flow facilities and equipment budget.
- Establish maintenance procedures for purchased equipment. Evaluate reuse, salvage, and scrap condition of existing equipment & manage the vendor change order process.
- Design 3D facilities if needed to provide vendors clarity and get quotes.
You Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Discipline) preferred in Mechanical Engineering
- 4 years of material flow and facilities installation experience
- Design & facilities fabrication experience
- Logistics Project implementation experience
- AutoCAD 2D & 3D design
- Project management experience / Strategic Installation Planning
- Demonstrated Equipment Acquisition experience
- Contract Negotiation, Project Pricing and Financial Analysis experience
- Technology Development and Evaluation experience
- Ability to work and negotiate with different teams & stakeholders (strong communication skills)
