Project Engineer (Measurement projects)

The opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Determined, Imaginative and Curious Engineer Student (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) who wants to expand your knowledge on Measurement Projects by supporting Project Engineers in the development of capital Measurement projects for Natural Gas projects, Auxiliary Equipment and Facilities. While reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the person selected for this role will be collaborating with the Project Management team to support project development activities, including but not limited to due diligence, permitting, technical advisory services and project management to support early stages of investment planning, through project development. There may be exposure to other projects such as Compression and Pipeline projects depending on workload.

What youll do

Successful candidate will support Project Engineering in the following key areas:

• Change management of design deliverables

• Technical Data collection and engineering analysis to support multi-discipline technical decision making

• Coordination and review of engineering work performed by TC Energy and by external engineering contractors

• Documenting the outcomes of engineering and construction work

• The role has detailed technical exposure to many disciplines in engineering and construction

• Work closely with Development team to successfully meet quality assurance on time and on budget

• Become a discipline engineer on the pertaining engineering degree.

There is a focus on data analysis and decision making based on data collected. There are limited opportunities for detailed technical calculation within a specific technical field.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or other Engineering related discipline

• Minimum 4+ years' experience

• Registered or eligible to register as a P.Eng (Professional Engineer) with APEGA in good standing in Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn about engineering design process, including cross-discipline knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work closely with field teams, management, third party resources, and coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources

• Skills to effectively operate in a team-oriented environment with a willingness to support team objectives

• Ability to handle rapidly shifting priorities and multiple activities concurrently, requiring resolution of complex problems in stressful situations

• Computer skills are required (Excel, Power Point, among others) to record findings, records tracking, and presentation.

• Ability to dive into very technical work.
