Position Information:
UC Riverside's Housing Services is recruiting for the Senior Housing Operations Manager. The full salary range for the Senior Housing Operations Manager is $66,500 - $118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $92,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Housing Operations, the Senior Housing Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of a year-round residential complex housing over 1500 residents comprised of undergraduate and graduate students. The position is a key part of UCR's intersegmental housing partnership with Riverside Community College District (RCCD) and will be responsible for the establishment and then management of a 'one stop shop' for services that will support the success of the RCCD students residing at the UCR campus. Will serve as the primary liaison between UCR Housing Services and RCCD ensuring clear communication, timely response, creation of new processes and managing this relationship with a strong spirit of collaboration. Supervises career and student staff along with running the administrative operations office at the complex to deliver high quality customer service. Works closely with custodial and maintenance to ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained environment. Coordinates workflow related to the processes, response and triage of: routine, after-hours, and emergency resident and facility services; utility outages; mail/parcel services; move-in and move-out activities; resource reservations and usage; space allocation; furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) allocations; facility inspections and vacant space preparations. Partners with Residential Education, Admissions/Enrollment, Recreation, UCPD and other campus stakeholders. Participates in campus and departmental outreach activities, including giving formal presentations. Responsible for inventory, reporting, and budget review for related scope of work. Will have on-call responsibilities and expected to respond to emergencies as well as recovery operations.

    • Contributes to and participates in long-range North District-2 planning. Articulates UCR Housing objectives to RCC and UCR staff and the residential community. Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with appropriate campus units including UCR Housing Services, Residential Education, Auxiliary Services, RCCD staff and other campus departments and controls provision of services to residents by other partners. Interprets and implements University policy for residents using eligible campus facilities and services.     • Develops and maintains critical collaborative relationships with RCC staff. Continuously monitors, positively impacts, and keeps departmental leadership informed regarding the effective and efficient work flow processes. Manage and collaborate with other campus partners (i.e. Residential Education, Auxiliary Services Projects and Facilities, ITS, etc.) to identify potential projects and concerns for residential facilities. Participate in facility walk-throughs and product/equipment demonstrations with vendors for recommendations on purchase and/or project scope.

  • In close coordination with Auxiliary Facilities Services, schedules larger impact routine and urgent repairs to best align with the residential needs and operation. Tracks work order completion and advocates for prioritization of work. Runs work order reports for open/closed tracking; escalate complex maintenance issues and follows up to ensure resolution. Responsible for entry/impact notices and information to residents that meets legal requirements and Housing standards. Serves as key resource to the community on addressing maintenance concerns and communicating status. Has key role in summer turnover processes including custodial and maintenance work timelines to ensure facilities continue to be well-maintained.

  • Reviews, processes, and approves transactions.
    • Responds to RCC residents housing billing inquiries including researching charges and payments; if necessary, escalate issues to RCC staff follows up to make sure that issue is resolved.

  • Collaborates with campus partners and service providers to develop and maintain access and security standards for Housing facilities. Monitors service provider compliance with set standards. Develops schedules, notifications, and compliance tracking reports for regularly-occurring inspections, drills, education, and/or preventative programs related to access controls and security, emergency preparedness, crime prevention, fire and life safety, and Clery reporting for assigned facilities. Responsible for regular reviews, inspections, condition reports and recommendations regarding general interior and exterior facility conditions, including all FFE items.

  • Monitor and enforce appropriate access for individuals and manage access to buildings for residents, staff, and service providers. Assists in the Development, implementation, and maintenance of Building Emergency Plans. Acts as the Building Supervisor for Emergency Conditions (BSEC) for organization emergency/disaster preparedness for assigned residential community. Serves as the communication liaison between organization service agencies and building occupants. Partners with Residential Education to coordinate emergency preparedness education and planning for building occupants during the academic year along with Hospitality Services for summer conference operational times.
