MD Stainless Services is a specialty contractor providing design, engineering, fabrication and installation of hygienic systems for the pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage industries. MD was founded in 1988 and is based in Downey, California.
We are looking to hire a CFO who will play a major part in our growth, development and future planning. The CFO position will report to the General Manager. We are seeking a true business partner with the ability to implement change and drive efficiencies within the Company.
Key objectives
To lead the Finance Team (team of 4)
To support the General Manager and Operations Manager as required
To understand the Business, the marketplaces in which it operates and take an active role in identifying and developing strategic
options and plans which will allow the business to maximize its revenue and profit.
Establish finance as a true business partner by better integrating finance throughout the business through the provision of quality,
timely and accurate information and analysis, highlighting issues and trends.
Specific responsibilities
Ownership of the monthly management accounts, year-end financial accounts, MD&A, forecasting, planning and internal and
external reporting (including preparation of quarterly reports to the board)
Identifying, implementing & leading efficient financial and operational processes to achieve sustainable growth
Overseeing the corporate finance function, including financial reporting, accounts payable & accounts receivable, tax and treasury
Reviewing, improving & streamlining accounting & financial management processes
Work with the senior management team in leading the development and implementation of short and medium term strategic and
operational plans.
Ownership of the financial and forecast models as well as the annual budgeting process
Ensure timely reporting of all financial information and adherence to covenants
Help manage relationships & contractual agreements with external partners & suppliers
Key Requirements:
Fully Qualified CPA or equivalent
Proven experience as a CFO or equivalent senior-level finance role
Experience with project-based businesses and billing practices
Experience with contractors, process piping or related industry firms.
Ability to interact with senior board of directors and industry leaders
Ability to work independently by default, and take the initiative to respond to changing situations and priorities with a high sense
of ownership, urgency, and drive
Experience of working in a PE-backed environment
The Person:
Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
The ability to think big. You will need to build solutions and processes that can scale
Be hands-on, with a drive to improve and refine our processes
Well-organized with an almost obsessive attention to detail
Some passion for what you do is essential
The ability to work hard and fast and the ability to do all of this with a smile
