Pipe Layer**

**Location - Portland, OR**

**Prevailing wage contract job located in Portland, OR at Columbia Boulevard Waste Water Treatment Plant!**

We are seeking a skilled pipefitter to install brand new piping for a new water treatment plant. You will be responsible for reading blueprints, setting specifications, laying out plans for installation, and preparing pipes. Experience in industrial settings and large commercial projects, as well as with pipes of different materials like carbon and stainless steel, is ideal. Strong mathematical and communication skills, along with a passion for seeing the systems you build work, are highly valued.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Review blueprints to understand requirements.

+ Set and modify specifications.

+ Inspect and prepare sites for construction operations.

+ Measure and cut pipes according to requirements.

+ Assemble and lubricate pipes.

+ Install and secure pipes using clamps.

+ Test functionality of hydronics and other systems.

+ Repair malfunctions, breakages, or leaks.

+ Use and maintain tools such as pneumatic drills and saws.

+ Collaborate with other workers, including plumbers and painters, to produce finished constructions.

+ Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment.

+ Help rig pipes to move around the sites and drop into location correctly.

**Qualifications:**

+ Experience in both residential and industrial settings.

+ Experience with pipes of different materials (carbon, stainless steel, etc.).

**Environment/ Shift:**

+ This position involves working outside in the elements and partially inside for some installations of new lines. It is a prevailing wage job with a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule (Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm). Currently, there is no overtime for this project, which is expected to last 3-4 months, though it may be extended due to delays.

The pay range for this position is $80.16 - $80.16/hr.
