Reports To: Vehicle Maintenance Garage Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

We started with pastries handmade by Lois and Lloyd Martin produced inside of a garage and we have boomed into a multi-facility company where our many products are produced by machines and shipped domestically and internationally. Summary: As a member of the Martin's family, the vehicle maintenance supervisor directs and coordinates operational actives of fleet maintenance and repair within the transportation department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Plans and directs work schedules, work order assignments and work sequences in maintenance and repair of tractor-trailer and/or company vehicle fleet for both MFPS & Martins.
+ Establishes and adjusts employee work schedules in order to meet the department needs.
+ Generates reports for preventative maintenance through forecast system in order to issue parts, apply work time and complete work orders.
+ Acts as primary communication liaison for the department.
+ Ensures that preventative work is done at the appropriate time for vehicles based on mileage and other factors such as location and availability.
+ Interacts and communicates with other departments in order to coordinate projections and activities that may have a direct impact on the department needs.
+ Provides input to manager to evaluate and develop current and future PM schedule and mileage intervals.
+ Monitors daily operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
+ Monitors state inspections on company vehicles and schedules the inspection process at appropriate time.
+ Coordinates operation and maintenance of equipment and repair facilities.
+ Schedules repair work not performed in shop for vehicles in outlying areas.
+ Enters information to include but not limited to new assets, into the EAM computer system.
+ Works with Manager to determine staffing requirements; interview, hire and train new employees.
+ Reviews and engages in STOP Safety protocols with technicians
+ Analyzes any unexpected issues that may arise and directs the department on how to handle effectively.
+ Interprets company policies to team.
+ Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists team in solving work problems.
+ Works through Fleet Evaluation process with technicians.
+ Works cross departmentally to plan and coordinate with Auto Body Supervision. Provides teams and manager progress of projects, repairs, workflows, etc.
+ Initiates or suggests plans to motivate team to achieve work goals.
+ Works with Vehicle Maintenance Garage Manager to prepare project work orders and purchase process including but not limited to review of time, resources, materials, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Participates in interviewing and training employees; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for planning, assigning and directing work of the department.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
+ High School Diploma or GED;
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent from four-year College or university; or
+ Three to five years experience; or
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Word software and Microsoft Excel software.
+ Knowledge of EAM system.
+ Knowledge of Outlook and Citrix.
