Major duties of this position will include, but are not limited to:
Maintenance And Preventive Maintenance 40%
- Performs duties according to manufacturer's specifications of an HVAC and Refrigeration Mechanic in the following areas: installs, maintains and repairs (both major and minor) all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment from 1/4-ton systems to 200-ton systems; equipment types up to 150 HP air condition and refrigeration compressors and air and water-cooled condensers, dry and wet-type evaporators, all types of refrigeration equipment including ice machines, chilled water pumps, chilled water, cooling tower fans and motor.
- Maintain and be able to work for long periods in walk-in freezers and walk-in coolers ranging in temperatures from -20 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Air handling units ranging from 20-ton to 130-ton capacity and contain the following components: dampers, bearings, pulleys, electronic filters, air washers, pre and final filters, direct expansion coils, chilled water coils, and motor with multi-belt sheave and steam grid humidifiers.

Electrical 20%
- Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electric wiring
systems, related switches, distribution panels, tools, and appliances. This task will be done by interpreting and applying the National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings by using trade formulas to calculate common properties, e.g., voltage, voltage drop, and current capability in series and parallel circuits, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power factor, current flow, and temperature and length in single and multiple raceways and conduits, etc.
- Repair or replace BAS and local controls, contactors, stops and starts circuits.
- Adjusts and troubleshoots electrical problems from power source to equipment and checks wiring.
- Working off ladders, scaffolds, and HEPA carts, doing layout, installing conduit, electrical boxes, pulling wire, and installing fixtures and devices, utilizing service-line, VA, local and federal policies such as lock-out/tag-out, ICRA/PCRA/ILSM/infection prevention policies, and other construction safety requirements as it relates to the job.
Administrative and Computer Skills 20%
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in data analysis and spreadsheet management using Microsoft Excel. Proficient in operating systems such as Windows and MAXIMO.
- Must be skilled in digital communication and team
collaboration using email management and instant messaging platforms.
- Must possess strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and professional interaction with clients and team members.
- Experienced in data entry and document management, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient information retrieval.
- Must be proficient in Building Automation Systems (BAS) that use N2 and BACNET (SMP
and IP) communication.
Pipefitter/ Plumber 10% -
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Proficient in diagnosing leaks and clogs and effectively resolving them toensure optimal system functionality.
- Reading blueprints and interpreting plumbing codes to guarantee compliance with regulations.
Carpentry 10% -
- Thorough knowledge of carpentry materials and construction techniques.
- Setting up and operating the full range of industrial carpentry skills utilizing related machinery, such as routers, band and scroll saws, drill presses, metal stud framing, and sheetrock hanging.
Work Schedule: 07:00am - 3:30pm, 07:30am - 4:00pm or 08:00am - 4:30pm
Compressed/Flexible Schedule: A compressed tour may be available to a highly qualified candidate.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- The incumbent will be expected to work from ladders, scaffolding, etc. Incumbent often works in cramped, dirty, and hard-to-reach locations. The work involves prolonged crouching, standing, frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in exhausting and uncomfortable positions for long periods.
- The incumbent frequently lifts or carries tools, equipment, ladders, scaffolding, parts, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Hand dexterity is a critical requirement in completing most tasks.
- The incumbent is exposed to various weather conditions in winter and summer when making repairs and installations on exterior work sites. During emergency repairs, extremes of bad weather are sometimes present. Many work sites are hot, dirty, dusty, greasy, poorly lit, cramped, and have unpleasant odors.
- Occasionally, the incumbent will be required to work near asbestos and lead-containing materials. The incumbent will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment to accomplish assigned tasks safely. Workers are exposed to bruises and minor cuts from working on equipment and using hand tools.
- The incumbent must observe control practices for disease prevention (i.e., hand washing, universal precautions/isolation procedures, including TB requirements/precautions.
