POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Were looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our operations. This position is critical to maintaining electrical systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a safe, team-oriented work environment.
POSITION CHALLENGES:
- 12 hour shift
- 5-2-2-5 rotation night shift
- Ability to work in various areas of the plant that include adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, grease, hot, cold, and extreme heights.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Minimal lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in environments with dirt, grease, heat, cold, and at heights.
- Must meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial electrician maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- AC/DC theory, power transmission, and test instruments
- VFDs, PLCs, ladder and relay logic
- Motor controls, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and electrical construction
- Ability to read schematics and equipment manuals.
- Commitment to safety practices (e.g., lockout/tagout, fall protection).
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts.
- Proficiency in math, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, work order systems).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyman Certification, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the steel industry.
- Welding and light fabrication skills.
- Familiarity with industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
- Understanding of PID control loops and combustion systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and safety awareness training.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial electrical equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and installations.
- Analyze test results and machine diagnostics to identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to support plant operations.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and complete work orders using computer systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
- Support Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
