POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Were looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our operations. This position is critical to maintaining electrical systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a safe, team-oriented work environment.

POSITION CHALLENGES:

  • 12 hour shift
  • 5-2-2-5 rotation night shift
  • Ability to work in various areas of the plant that include adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, grease, hot, cold, and extreme heights.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Minimal lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in environments with dirt, grease, heat, cold, and at heights.
  • Must meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of industrial electrician maintenance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • AC/DC theory, power transmission, and test instruments
    • VFDs, PLCs, ladder and relay logic
    • Motor controls, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and electrical construction
  • Ability to read schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Commitment to safety practices (e.g., lockout/tagout, fall protection).
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts.
  • Proficiency in math, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, work order systems).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman Certification, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the steel industry.
  • Welding and light fabrication skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
  • Understanding of PID control loops and combustion systems.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and safety awareness training.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and installations.
  • Analyze test results and machine diagnostics to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to support plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and complete work orders using computer systems.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
  • Support Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
