Commercial Sign Production Supervisor/Coordinator

At **American Lift and Sign**, the **Sign Production Supervisor/Coordinator** is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sign production, ensuring that products meet our high standards of quality and aesthetics. This role involves leading the production process from design to installation, managing a team, and coordinating with various departments, vendors and sometimes customers to ensure timely delivery of projects and customer satisfaction. The ability to collaborate and build relationships is vital to the success of this role.

Strong leadership and management skills required.

Good understanding of sign production processes and quality control techniques required.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills needed.

Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities necessary.

Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, work within and oversee production schedules. Adjust schedules as needed. Communicate changes with all stakeholders.

- Ensure production targets and deadlines are met.

- Monitor and evaluate production processes.

- Enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.

- Oversee and inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.

- Address quality issues promptly and effectively. Identify any issues or inefficiencies and implement new processes and improvements.

- Supervise and lead production workers, providing guidance and training.

- Conduct performance evaluations and manage employee attendance and performance. Handle disciplinary actions and conflict resolution.

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed. Promote a culture of safety amongst team members.

- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products. Coordinate to ensure timely delivery of materials.

- Prepare and maintain production reports and records as requested by management. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

- Full-time position, with potential for overtime as needed

- Exposure to machinery, noise and hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

- Highschool diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing or a related field is a plus but not required.

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a sign production environment AND at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Understanding of signage materials and production processes.

- Ability to become shops UL Manufacturer Technical Representative within 90 days of hire

- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments and vendors.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in outdoor environments.

- Asist Installers with training and the installation process on vinyl or graphics.

- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

- Min. 3 years of experience in the commercial sign industry.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers in a professional and friendly manner.

- Strong leadership and management skills

- Basic knowledge of inventory management.

- Knowledge of sign codes, permitting, and ADA compliance

- Basic understanding of fabrication and installation methods
