Position Summary

The role of the Maintenance Tech III reports to the Facilities Supervisor in partnership with the Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance in various areas of the hospital campus.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Review and complete assigned maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, plant equipment, HVAC-R, plumbing, and other hospital inventory
  • Maintain the building automation system including management of HVAC and electrical systems
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and solvents in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain documentation of completed requests, system failures, and escalate to leadership as needed
  • Perform routine checks and ensures updates to software equipment
  • Develop and provide reports to leadership regarding life safety, quality, and maintenance performance optimization strategies
  • Interpret plans and blueprints
  • Ensure work performed in a safe and competent manner

Qualifications

  • Education : High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Licensure and Certifications : Drivers license and auto liability insurance, required. Arkansas boilers license required within 6 months OR license in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC-R or Fire Suppression Systems, required.
  • Experience : Minimum of 5 years’ experience in 3 of the following areas; Industrial electrical systems up to 480 volts-3 phase; Air conditioning and refrigeration; HVAC operations; HVAC-R; Generator operation and maintenance; Medical gas system; Pneumatic tube systems; Fire Suppression Systems; General maintenance/mechanical and general institutional environments.

Work Environment : This position will spend 90% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will utilize hand tools, power tools, and chemicals to perform work. This position may be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids.
