Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Mechanic /Electrician (North Texas Area) - Austin Bridge & Road . Our mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of heavy construction equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues by using diagnostic equipment or by performing hands-on tests
- Repairing or replacing broken parts, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty, compliance, and tracking purposes.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of service and repair experience with heavy construction equipment
- Prefer experience with Roadtec, Wirtgen, Vogele, Weiler, Cat, John Deere, and other various brands of paving equipment
- Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance skills
- Maintenance & Repair and Troubleshooting abilities
- Mechanical aptitude with required knowledge of:
- Diesel engines
- Transmissions
- Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Must have a strong commitment to jobsite safety
- Diligent in demonstrating safe work practices
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights and weekends
