- Develop familiarity by reading, understanding, and maintaining a working knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and policies and procedures.
- Ensure that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding and complying with company quality and continuous improvement programs.
- Demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Learn the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
- Identify the needs of internal clients and gain a basic understanding of external clients' main interests and drivers.
- Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes.
- 2-5 years of experience in substation drafting.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Understanding of client standards, MicroStation, Autodesk Inventor, and SDS.
- Preferred Non-Technical Skills: Learning on the fly, problem-solving, perseverance, patience, time management, drive for results, self-development, listening, and informing.
- Preferred Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications, design or modeling skills, basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.
- Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
- 3-5 years of substation drafting experience preferred.
- Experience with drafting software: AutoCAD SDS, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation, or Inventor.
This role offers a hybrid work environment with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.
