Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fence Contractor Estimator and Materials Purchaser to join our team. This role combines expertise in estimating project costs and procuring materials to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate project requirements, including measurements, site conditions, and client specifications.
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for fencing projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other associated costs.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored fencing solutions.
Source and procure high-quality materials from suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure the best deals while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fencing materials, industry trends, and pricing fluctuations.
Coordinate with project managers and installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Track and manage material inventories to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including estimates, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an estimator or materials purchaser in the fencing, construction, or related industry.
Strong understanding of fencing materials, installation techniques, and industry standards.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
Proficient in negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and project specifications.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in estimation software, Microsoft Office, and inventory management tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, team members, and suppliers.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in construction or estimating are a plus.
