Studio Director (Senior Architect)

DOMA Architecture is looking for a process and detail-oriented Architect with 7-10+ years experience to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for leading the Bluffton, SC studio. This position will be primarily in-person with limited remote work available for discussion.

EXPECTATIONS:
  • A professional degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect in the state of South Carolina preferred (NCARB certificate also acceptable)
  • Problem solving skills, highly organized with attention to detail and ability to collaborate and mentor others in a deadline-driven environment
  • Highly skilled in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop/Illustrator, Microsoft and 3D Visualization (i.e. Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong familiarity and experience with residential/commercial building codes/regulations, specifications, building and engineering systems, building products, construction detailing and quality standards
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic
  • Effective time management and leadership skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead by example and be a good steward of the companys core values
  • Responsible for meeting with realtors/sales agents to foster relationships and promote business development
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with prospective and current clients
  • Ability to understand and adhere to DOMAs custom design process and drawing/design standards
  • Advanced understanding and familiarity with residential site design, building design and construction in coastal regions
  • Develop creative/innovative design ideas and concepts that can be developed into a buildable set of construction documents
  • Responsible for construction document creation from initial design ideas and coordination of all relevant consultants/drawing disciplines.
  • Coordinate and execute applicable reviews from authorities having jurisdiction and/or architectural review committees
  • Ability to perform and execute limited construction administration duties through site visits and direct engagement with consultants and projects managers in the field.
