Job Description
Location -- Remote: North New Jersey
Duration -- 6 months (Possibility of Extension)
- Work experience performing electric distribution design engineering, either in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility;
- Senior- Level: 4+ years of relevant experience
- A bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution will be preferred, but relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Experience with the execution of distribution projects from kickoff through design approval, including Customer interaction and Process documentation
- Experience with utility reliability projects
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the NESC
- Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)
- Willingness to perform both field and office work; Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion; The role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
- Candidates should possess a valid U.S. driver's license, as some local or regional travel is expected
Nice to Have:
- Previous QAQC experience
- Experience providing estimated costs, developing a BOM, and calculating the CIAC
- Experience with design tools such as Pole Foreman, O-Calc, Spida-Calc
- Experience with the Work Management System CREWS
- 1 year or more of Relevant management or leadership experience
- Relevant experience with the utility FirstEnergy, or its subsidiaries
