Our services span from site investigation and value engineering to full-scale excavation and utility installation. We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-driven Lead Excavator Operator to join our wet utilities field team. This full-time role plays a key part in the installation of underground water, wastewater, storm drainage, and retention systems. The ideal candidate will have experience operating 300-class excavators and be responsible for precise trenching, safe equipment handling, and leading production pace on active job sites. This is a hands-on position suited for operators who take pride in their craft and prioritize crew safety and efficiency.

What you will do:

• Excavate mainline trenches accurately to the required grade and alignment.
• Operate equipment safely near crew members and other trades.
• Monitor trench conditions continuously to ensure stability and safety.
• Identify and implement appropriate trench protection methods, including benching and sloping, when needed.
• Safely lower pipe and material into trench using proper rigging techniques.
• Move and position trench boxes safely in coordination with team.
• Set and main the pace of excavating to meet daily production goals.
• Read and interpret plans and grade stakes, experience preferred.

What were looking for:

• 2-3 years of experience operating a 300-class excavator in utility or heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of OSHA trenching and excavation safety standards
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge in testing of soils a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must have a valid drivers license
