Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, loaders, and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Assist in the excavation and installation of underground utility lines

Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs

Follow blueprints, site plans, and verbal instructions to ensure proper alignment and grade

Work with the crew to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met

Maintain a clean and safe job site, adhering to company and OSHA safety standards

Transport equipment to and from job sites as needed (if licensed)

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of experience operating heavy machinery in utility or construction environments

Valid drivers license

Ability to read and interpret utility plans and staking sheets

Strong understanding of underground utility safety practices

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions

Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 10/30 certification

CDL Class A or B

Knowledge of local utility codes and regulations
