Welder/Fitter

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking skilled Fitter/Welders with experience in the steel industry to join our client's project in Longview, WA. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading blueprints and fit-up of structural steel components, along with performing high-quality welds using FCAW or other applicable processes. A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required.

Shift: 5am to 3:30pm Monday - Friday (project based 4+ weeks)

Pay: $30-35/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Fit and assemble structural steel components based on blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.

• Perform welding operations using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), primarily in the 3G position.

• Measure, cut, grind, and prep steel materials using hand and power tools.

• Inspect fit-up and completed welds to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Set up, adjust, and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.

• Operate safely in a shop or job-site environment, adhering to all safety regulations and PPE requirements.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

• Maintain clean and organized work areas and tools.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fitter/Welder in the steel fabrication or structural steel industry.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings.

• Proficient in 3G FCAW welding, with the ability to pass a weld test if required or have current certification.

• Strong math, measuring, and layout skills.

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions (standing, bending, overhead).

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• FR pant and shirt.

• Current OSHA 30.
