We do incredible projects for clients and currently need more help to get them done! This is a project based assignment and while we have work right now, we are also interested in building our bench of awesome builders to join us through the next year as we tackle additional projects.
This is NOT for a full time role with Teague. All candidates are open to working 1099 contract or through W-2 contract role with an agency. In both cases, candidates are not eligible for Teague benefits.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Technical Build Specialist transforms creative concepts into reality through expert mockup creation, fabrication, assembly, and build execution. This role blends craftsmanship with design excellence, ensuring every project meets the highest quality standards.
WHO YOU ARE:
You're a builder with a designer's eye-equal parts craftsman and creative problem-solver. You thrive in hands-on environments where ideas move fast and precision matters. Whether you're interpreting CAD drawings or bringing a napkin sketch to life, you have the technical skills and intuitive judgment to build with excellence.
You're fluent in working with materials like wood, metal, foam, and other materials, can interpret electronic CAD drawings, technical schematics, and sketches with precision, and you understand how to pivot seamlessly between building prototypes and polished exhibit mockups. Collaboration energizes you and you enjoy working alongside designers, engineers, and clients to troubleshoot, refine, and execute builds that push boundaries.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage projects and tasks independently from start to finish, demonstrating strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and time management without direct supervision.
- Adapt to evolving priorities by taking on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the team's overall success.
- Seek out and consult with tenured team members for appropriate approaches and strategies for mockup fabrication, assembly, and installation.
- Contribute to Teague's safety culture by strictly adhering to safety and security protocols and proactively reporting potential hazards to management.
- Operate manual machinery with precision to ensure high-quality fabrication and consistent output.
- Promote a clean and organized workspace, maintaining industry-standard shop conditions and fostering productivity.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or technical degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with precision power tools, including drills, saws, grinders, sanders, and routers.
- Knowledge of mockups, exhibits, and display construction by interpreting rough sketches or detailed engineering drawings and descriptions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in construction standards, including advanced techniques, industry terminology, and specialized equipment operations.
- Proficient in interpreting CAD models, technical drawings, and sketches, and translating verbal instructions into actionable tasks.
- Proficient in construction mathematics, with practical knowledge of essential formulas and calculations.
- Understanding measurement systems, including hands-on experience with precision tools like calipers for accurate assessments.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite or other computer communication software.
Note: This job posting provides a general overview of the role and is not meant to represent a comprehensive list of all responsibilities, duties, or required skills.
This role is 100% onsite in our shop and will require someone able to make it to our Everett location.
