Carpenter**
**Job Description**
Aerotek is hiring immediately for a carpenter! We are seeking a skilled carpenter who can read blueprints and rail car plans to meet client needs. The ideal candidate will install structures and fixtures, measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials, and install new hardware as needed. This role involves constructing and installing structures in rail cars, such as walls, tabletops, and door frames, and performing light plumbing and electrical work. This position is full time offering competitive pay and benefits!
**Responsibilities**
+ Read and interpret blueprints and rail car plans.
+ Install structures and fixtures in rail cars.
+ Measure, cut, and shape materials including wood and plastic.
+ Install new hardware as required.
+ Perform light plumbing and electrical tasks.
+ Execute mechanical duties as assigned.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Notify supervisor of faulty equipment.
+ Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
+ Wear and use required protective equipment while working.
+ Take responsibility for personal safety on the job.
+ Work overtime as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Proficiency in carpentry and the use of hand tools.
+ Experience with installation and repair work.
+ Knowledge of construction, wiring, and schematic reading.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Documented carpentry experience.
+ Successful completion of a pre-employment screening process.
+ Light plumbing and electrical experience is a plus.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
