Summary:
The Business Development Manager for Chemical Services will be responsible for strategically driving substantial revenue growth in chemical services of products for TÜV Rheinland in USA. This will involve developing plan, identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, understanding market demands, and ensuring revenue growth in alignment with all key stakeholders internally and externally.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic planning and implementation (35%)
- Lead the formulation of chemical service strategy based on market trends, regulatory environments, client needs and internal capability and capacity.
- Align with internal stakeholders to identify best practices and approaches for systematic implementation by all parties involved to ensure smooth and successful delivery.
- Drive execution of the strategy with close cooperation with operation team, sales / key account team.
- Set measurable targets to monitor the growth of chemical orders and their contribution to overall business revenue.
- Regularly analyze business performance and implement improvement measures in alignment with key stakeholders.
Client development (35%)
- Develop and implement strategies to sufficiently expand the client base substantially, focusing on local and North American customers across different industries.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities in all sectors of products (including but not limited to consumer products, electric and electronic products, medical device and products for commercial-use and solar products) to drive revenue and profit growth by chemical testing services.
- Closely work with internal chemical laboratory in Bentonville to understand and prioritize scalable local testing services to maximize sales results.
- Maintain strong connections with local industries and clients
- Align with sales team to increase chemical service revenue from existing clients.
- Propose and adopt innovative approach to increase sales revenue and laboratory utilization
Cross-field sales capability building and cooperation (20%)
- Develop and deliver structured training programs with support from chemical experts to equip internal sales team with technical understanding and selling strategies for chemical services.
- Drive and facilitate closer collaboration between different internal teams from global TÜV Rheinland network to improve cross-field chemical sales and explore synergies.
Others (10%)
- Identify and propose further investment opportunities and need for new accreditation schemes to achieve sustainable and profitable business growth, when applicable.
Qualifications: .
- Familiar with and thorough understanding of chemical-related regulations and requirements in USA and North America region.
- Proficiency in English to engage with clients and internal teams (sales, operation, technical experts etc.)
- Excellent analytical skills and shrewd business acumen
- Strong interpersonal skills and open-minded with global mindset.
- Highly motivated with customer and result-orientation
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to travel domestically and internationally for work-purpose
- Preferably willing to relocate to Bentonville area, Arkansas
Education
- University degree holder with solid background in chemical testing and services in TIC industry
Experience
- +5 years of experience in business development or/and sales area with proven record of success, preferably also with established resources and networking
