Job Summary:
Viking Hose and Fittings, a division of Singer Industrial, is an industrial distribution company specializing in supplying mechanical rubber goods to Industrial companies. We are seeking a warehouse person to accurately fill customers’ orders, properly receive and put away stock, and maintain the warehouse according to company standards. The warehouse person will properly perform fabrication tasks that include cutting hose to length, cutting sheet rubber and gasket material, building hose assemblies with a variety of tools and equipment. He/she will serve customers courteously and efficiently at the customer service counter. He/she will properly maintain warehouse equipment. The warehouse person will work with other company personnel to accomplish the company’s objectives.
Successful applicants must have a good mechanical aptitude and enjoy working with tools and equipment. This job is fast paced, independent work, characterized by a variety of frequently changing tasks. The ability to read and follow complex instructions is essential. Previous experience with fluid power or plumbing/HVAC products is a plus.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Fill customer orders and stock
- Performs hose assembly (cutting hoses to size and attaching components to manufacturer specs), and ensures standard work process is followed, in a Work Center team environment.
- Operates manufacturing equipment, including forklift, crimpers, Bandit, saw.
- Responsible for hose orders and pick tickets being filled out completely with any substitutions being listed on the paperwork.
- Performs daily maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Conducts in-process inspection and enters work order data.
- Communicates workflow problems and equipment needs.
- Able to multitask without constant supervision.
- Understands and supports corporate initiatives such as LEAN.
- Exercise good housekeeping in the work area.
- Overtime as deemed necessary.
- Participate in team events as needed to improve Safety, Quality or Productivity of the facility.
- Train fellow employees.
- Label outbound material with appropriate shipping information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Hose product assembly, standard work and equipment operation and set-up.
- Good math and measuring skills, including the ability to convert fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read, speak, understand, and write English.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer knowledge and skills and the ability to learn company business system.
Education and Experience:
- High school degree or GED required.
- Must pass a background and pre-employment drug test.
- NAHAD certification a plus.
- Must be able to demonstrate a reliable and dependable work history.
- Hose assembly experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement, including walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet for 8 hours or more. Work environments have exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust, odors, and fumes.
