Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Travel Superintendent, leading architectural construction activities for commercial and light industrial projects across Michigan. This role involves overseeing the planning, direction, and coordination of construction projects, ensuring high-quality and timely completion. Responsibilities
- Review construction documents and understand scope of work, ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Manage subcontractor work to ensure quality and observe methods of construction.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate activities of trade employees, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Accurately interpret and enforce architectural plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal members, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Inform project manager of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
- Supervise trades crew and prioritize work.
- Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Submit hourly employee timesheets into payroll by deadline and ensure hours are assigned properly.
- Communicate project status to all parties including project manager, customer, employees, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate manpower needs and attend face-to-face meetings with clients and project progress meetings.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years of construction supervision experience, preferably in commercial architectural or design/build.
- Familiarity with various building methods and ability to run projects from cradle to grave.
- Experience working on projects ranging from $5 million-$10 million.
- Construction scheduling experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related field.
- Experience using Microsoft Project.
- Experience working on light industrial, medical, educational, or design build projects.
