Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated HVAC Mechanic 2 to join the team. This role is full-time, working various schedules (40 hours weekly). Schedules are made a month in advance.

HVAC Mechanic 2 Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems throughout the facilities (i.e. chilled water and stand-alone cooling systems, steam and stand-alone heating systems refrigerators, ice machines, etc.) to ensure reliable systems operation.
  • Responds to emergency calls to correct electrical failures during evening, night, weekend and holiday periods.
  • Evaluates and determines the resources necessary to accomplish HVAC construction requirements for assigned renovation projects.
  • Installs necessary duct work and controls to meet the HVAC requirements of renovation projects.
  • Makes adjustments to air flow and temperature using the energy control computer.
  • Responds to site of customer requesting HVAC services of work order receipt in a timely manner or immediately after completion of a work order in progress.
  • Controls and completes all assigned work orders and PM orders to maintain the reliability and integrity of the equipment/furnishings in the hospital.
  • Wears appropriate safety equipment and complies with departmental and OSHA safety standards at all times; Keeps personal work spaces and equipment in a safe and orderly condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: 3 years of experience working in a commercial HVAC environment required and 5 years preferred.
  • Experience : Virginia Journeyman Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning license required or may hold an equivalent Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning license from another jurisdiction and obtain a Virginia license within six (6) months of employment.
