The Honeywell Aerospace Lighting Center of Excellence is seeking an Advanced Electrical Design/Project Engineer to perform electrical design activities in the development of solid-state exterior aircraft lighting utilizing high power LEDs, switch mode power supply topologies, and microprocessor controls. Additionally, troubleshooting of existing products from the field and on the production-line will be required.
**Responsibilities** :
Develop robust designs that are designed to meet cost and schedule targets, easily manufactured, reliable, and maintainable by major aircraft operators
Conducting electrical design and analyses using manual calculations, simulations, and prototyping to support design approach and proposed product specifications
Preparation of customer required electrical data items (e.g. FMEA, derating analyses, circuit tolerance analyses)
Directs the production of prototypes and mock-ups and conducts or oversees verification/margin testing to validate design concepts
Works closely within a multi-discipline team including other engineers, designers, technicians, program management and production staff to optimize utilization of time and resources
Supports assessment & selection of relevant suppliers, vendors & their products
Interfaces with customers regarding electrical requirements & specifications of lighting products
Assist with cost estimates of components and systems
Works across multiple product lines including aircraft interior, exterior, and electro-mechanical lighting products
Compensation & Benefits:

**MUST HAVE** :
Bachelor's degree in from an accredited institution in the sciences, electrical engineering, electronics, physics, or mathematics
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical engineering

+ Experience with Switch-Mode Power Supply design, linear, and microcontroller interfacing desired
Experience with Mentor Graphics PB design software is desired
Ability to work multiple projects/tasks simultaneously

Ability to take responsibility for a task/project, create a plan of action and execute
