Grinding Operator

JOB TITLE: **Grinding Operator**

DEPARTMENT: Operations

LOCATION: Moncure, NC

TRAVEL: N/A

General Shale Brick, is seeking a Grinding Room Operator for our manufacturing facility in Moncure, NC. This position is hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Follow safety standards and procedures

+ Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment

+ Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure minimal unplanned stops

+ Communicate and record abnormalities to the supervisor

+ Monitor the equipment and record daily data of the condition of the equipment

+ Must be able to perform minor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance

+ Ensure quality of the material being grinded

+ Keep material stock levels.

**EDUCATION:**

+ High school or equivalent required

+ MSHA Training

**WORK EXPERIENCE:**

+ Forklift experience, loader and backhoe experience or the ability to learn to operate them safely

+ 1+ years experience in manufacturing preferred

+ Experience with hammer mills is a plus

+ Experience with belt conveyors is a plus

**SKILLS REQUIRED:**

+ Able to perform various form of physical labor (i.e. lifting 50 lbs/ standing)

+ Ability to work well with others and be a team player

+ Perform light maintenance on equipment

+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

+ Committed to working in a zero harm workplace

+ Able to work flexible hours when needed
