We're looking for a Senior Piping Design Engineer in Cary, NC who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients business. Join us and youll have the chance to work on projects including state of the art industrial, pharmaceutical and commercial facilities. Youll be accountable for individual contribution, and at times, leading a group of Piping Designers and Piping Engineers, establishing Piping scope on projects, estimating engineering and design effort-hours, developing project schedule and staffing plans, performance factoring, and the technical quality of approval of Piping deliverables. You will be responsible to track and identify scope change management, interpret client specifications and standards, ensure that all applicable codes are adhered to, check deliverables, and establishing internal and external client relationships. Youll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, helping your team discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.
The position will be Hybrid, with approximately half of your time in the Cary, NC office or on a client site.

Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Pipe Engineering
At least 10+ years of Piping Engineering and Piping Design experience
Working knowledge of piping design in 3D modeling software such as AutoCad Plant 3D, SmartPlant 3D, or Revit
Experience utilizing Caesar II or an equivalent Pipe Stress software
Functional knowledge of ASME B31.3 guidelines and requirements
Retrofit project and significant field / site experience
Preparation of Piping Material Specifications and Piping Discipline Standards
This position is a hybrid and will require to be in the office 2-3 days a week
Ideally, youll also have:
Masters in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineering (PE) License or have the desire to obtain a license preferred
Experience using Laser Scanning technology as a design assistance tool
Pharmaceutical industry knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
