FABRICATOR

From fabrication to final assembly, Stepp is a full manufacturing facility for asphalt maintenance equipment. Our equipment heats, stores, transports, and applies all types of asphaltic material for maintaining the roadways.

2nd Shift: 4x10 Monday - Thursday from 3pm - 130am with overtime available. Some flexibility available upon prior agreement with manager.

Starting wage range $20-$28 hourly , plus $3 shift differential for 2 nd shift

Essential functions and requirements within the fabrication department vary for each position, but includes understanding the intent and proper procedures for set-up and operation of the following equipment: (Bold indicates the primary job functions)

• Laser
• Press Brake
• Roller
• Pipe / Tubing Bender
• Lathe
• Drill Press
• Mill
• Tank Header
• Saw
• Hand Plasma
• Self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step in the fulfillment process.
• Other duties deemed necessary to support the Company's business operations ( ie . Cross-trainable)
• Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives.
• Keep the work area clean and organ ized, follow 5S guidelines.
• Follow work direction and training provided by higher level welding personnel.
• Actively participate in the Companys continuous improvement efforts by identifying and communicating basic process improvements.
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks
• Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality!
• 50LB max lifting weight. ( Frequent use of overhead cranes required). Repetitious bending and standing for extended periods of time to be expected.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Blueprint reading
• Forklift and crane operations
• Possess mathematical problem-solving ability
• Demonstrate appropriate use of tools, technology, and equipment
• Knowledge of mathematical principals such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and converting between decimals, percentages, fractions, and whole numbers
• Material identification steel, aluminum, stainless

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent reaching and lifting 0-50 lbs. Overhead cranes available.
• Requires ability to grip with hands/fingers for sustained periods of time

• Repetitious bending and standing for extended periods of time to be expected.

• Frequent bending/ twisting/ turning
• Frequent and extended periods of standing and walking required
• Operation of equipment and machinery such as overhead cranes and/or forklifts
• Remaining alert to surroundings, specifically when operating equipment and/or machinery
• Must be able to reason and partake in critical decision making.
• Attention to detail and concentration towards task at hand.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 2-3 years press brake set-up and operations experience preferred
