Our client, a leader in innovative engineering solutions, is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.

As a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting cutting-edge projects in electrical energy storage and distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Troy, MI

What's the Job?

  • Utilize a suite of analytic and administrative tools for the development and design of electrical energy storage and distribution systems.
  • Employ MATLAB/Simulink/LTSpice and related modeling tools to predict the thermal and electrical performance of proposed electrical system designs.
  • Conduct diagnostic and certification testing, creating comprehensive reports of test results.
  • Collaborate with customers to realize, evolve, quantify, and design electrical energy storage and distribution systems.
  • Support the manufacture of production and prototype systems, providing documentation including reports, BOM, and drawings of fully realized system designs.

What's Needed?

  • Master's degree from a nationally accredited university or college in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical engineering (controls focus).
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink model-based embedded algorithm design.
  • Proven background in controls systems (design, implementation, experimentation).
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication (CAN) and experience with hybrid and/or pure-electric vehicles.
  • LabVIEW experience preferred, along with strong oral and written communication skills.
