Summary
The Estimator assists in the preparation of an accurate and comprehensive estimate of the cost of materials, equipment, and labor necessary for the construction of a project. Provides support to the Senior and Lead Estimators.

Key Responsibilities
? Develops estimates and bids for construction project.
? Marks up plans using approved methods to identify scopes of work for input into bid packages.
? Completes take-offs and data mining to gather information for bids.
? Reviews sites and gather information as needed.
? Creates, understands, receives, and distributes RFIs to clarify plan discrepancies, constructability issues, and scheduling
problems. Fills scope gaps and anticipates issues that have not been presented on the plans.
? Generates trade lists, subcontractor and vendor lists, and call lists to track and ensure bid coverage with a minimum of three
bids per trade.
? Prepares complete and accurate subcontractor scope letters aiding in formulating bid packages for specific trades.
? Participates in subcontractor solicitation and negotiations by issuing bid instructions, reviewing documents and scope of work, and coordination of project/bid documents.
? Assists in procurement and leveling of subcontractor bids.
? Builds strong relationships with subcontractors, clients, and consultants to communicate effectively and deliver the highest level of customer service.
? Conducts site visits as necessary and required.
? Maintains document organization.
? Assists in the prequalification of subcontractors.
? Supports and embodies company maxims and value proposition to create deep, lasting relationships with clients and business partners.

? Good interpersonal and written communication skills
? Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or Phoenix), 3-D design, and Pipeline. Procore experience highly desired.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture. Two (2) years of experience in professional estimating in lieu of degree.
  • Three years of construction experience preferred.
