Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in an engineering lab (internships, cooperative education programs, or educational projects).
  • Experience with electrical engineering principles in the following areas: power regulation, high and low speed digital, hardware bring up and debug, schematic capture or PCB layout.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout tools or lab techniques such as soldering, oscilloscopes, data acquisition.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with both schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Knowledge of system power, power regulators, python scripting, C++, and Cadence/Allegro.
  • Ability to execute work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, along with attention to detail.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, validation, and optimization of the electrical systems fundamental to our Pixel phones. You will have knowledge in electrical engineering principles with an interest and experience in power systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive the integration of power management solutions, and conduct analysis of power distribution and digital communications. Your responsibilities will include system-level bring-up, validation, and schematic/layout design.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Googles artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Contribute to the electrical design and validation of Google's future phone products with a focus on system power, charging circuitry, and digital interfaces.
  • Perform all electrical engineering tasks related to sub-system design including: Schematic capture, circuit signal integrity simulation along with SI team. Work with CAD team on layout designs on multiple mediums: rigid PCB, FPC, hybrid rigid/FPC assemblies. Plan circuit validation, including functional/parametric validation. Review/analyze validation data. Debug/resolve functional or parametric issues.
  • Work with the cross functional engineering teams (mechanical, RF, antenna, sensors, display, camera, and Layout) to bring new designs from concept to production.
  • Review factory test requirements, assisting in software bring up, traveling on-site to the manufacturer to ensure the design is built and tested.
  • Contribute to design tool enhancements or development.
