In-depth knowledge and understanding of state and federal environmental laws and regulations and experience in the administration of policies and the management of data required to demonstrate compliance. Experience in creating and administering local safety procedures and programs in an industrial environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Supervise the operation of production facilities and related equipment to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation in compliance with Company, OSHA, air and water quality regulations. 2. Scheduling of heating and cooling production equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance and facilitate vendor and contractor work. 3. Routinely inspect and monitor plant equipment and operations, lead efforts to identify root causes of plant operational problems and develop recommendations for resolution, and prevention of reoccurrence when applicable. 4. Perform troubleshooting of equipment and system operational problems and initiate actions to correct while ensuring necessary follow through to completion. Participate in troubleshooting of maintenance issues with plant staff as needed. 5. Continuously reviews and improves plant operating practices and procedures. Ensures communication and/or training of these changes is provided to O&M Technicians. 6. Implements refresher and Just-In-Time training consistent with current and upcoming plant activities to improve operational consistency and effectiveness. 7. Develops recommendations for improved effectiveness, efficiency, reliability, and safety, including modification, addition, or replacement of equipment, and changes in operating procedures. 8. Be on 24 hour call to resolve operational problems as necessary and inform General Manager for situations that require immediate attention. 9. Coordinate availability of water treatment and other supplies necessary for plant operation. 10. Monitor regulatory compliance and assist in managing the requirements of the facilities permits. 11. Reviews daily operating logs, reports, and data; ensures inconsistencies or apparent problems are investigated, addressed, and resolved. Uses this information to improve plant procedures, processes, and operations. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.
