Kleinfelder is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer-In-Training (EIT)!

The solar PV & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design team in Denver, Colorado is searching for an Electrical EIT. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be collaborative, possess strong Engineering background, be enthusiastic about new challenges, and be able to communicate well with others. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute electrical engineering activities with the objective of meeting the defined contractual scope to the relevant codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Perform engineering calculations, modeling, and design for utility scale PV & BESS projects.
  • Analyze technical issues within the electrical engineering discipline, aided and supported by the senior Electrical Engineering professionals.
  • Support development of PV & BESS construction packages including array and equipment layouts, MV collection systems, electrical one-lines, electrical equipment installation details, power system studies, and energy models.
  • Support drafters in developing technical drawings and work plans according to engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for design team.
  • Travel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients (20% or less).
  • Attend project meetings and client meetings.
  • Completion of other relevant duties as required.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in engineering of renewable energy projects, including utility-scale solar PV & BESS projects.
  • Familiar with relevant electrical codes.
  • Working knowledge of or eagerness to develop expertise in AutoCAD, PVCASE, PVSyst, ETAP, or similar design software.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $81,619-$109,606.
