CAD Drafter

SUMMARY: The CAD Drafter is responsible for providing support to the fabrication department by preparing product layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams of architectural and custom metal projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Uses computer assisted design/drafting (AutoCAD 2020) equipment and software to develop designs.
• Creates and revises fabrication drawings.
• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of products.
• Draws finished designs from sketches.
• Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production drawings.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree
• 2+ years of relevant/technical work experience OR
• An additional 2 years of large-scale program management experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and scheduling applications

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years CAD Drafter experience
• Aviation experience
