Job Title: Pipelayer
Job Type: Full-Time, 50 hour work week, 10 hour shifts - 5 days per week

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our team and contribute to the successful completion of our projects.
Job Summary: The Pipelayer will be responsible for installing and repairing underground pipelines for various utilities, such as water, sewage, and storm drains. This role involves reading blueprints, laying pipes, and ensuring the correct alignment and sealing of pipe joints. A strong commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to understand the scope and specifications of the pipeline installation.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles, digging trenches, and setting up necessary equipment.
- Lay and align pipes in trenches according to project specifications, ensuring correct slope and depth.
- Apply sealing compounds, adhesives, and other materials to pipe joints to ensure watertight connections.
- Backfill trenches and compact soil around installed pipes to prevent shifting and ensure stability (Haunching).
- Inspect installed pipes for leaks or other issues and conduct pressure tests to ensure proper installation.
- Maintain installed pipe to prevent damage or silt intrusion.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed to complete tasks.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other team members to coordinate work activities and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain and care for tools and equipment used in pipeline installation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pipelayer in the civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline installation techniques and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GPS and other navigation tools used in construction.
