Responsibilities:

• Set-up, operate, and maintain the vertical band saw
• Load and unload the saw station using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment
• Saw steel and other material to specifications as outlined in work orders, blueprints, and/or drawings
• Adjust feed speeds per project
• Inspect and measure finished pieces for accuracy
• Ensure the saw station and surrounding work areas are safe, clean, and well-organized
• Routine machine maintenance including but not limited to, blade inspection and replacement, blade tension adjustment, cooling system inspection
• Stack, label, and organize parts per job specifications
• Assist in other areas of the department as needed with cleaning, deburring, inventory, machining, paint, welding, etc.

Requirements:

• 1 or more years of machine operation experience
• Vertical band saw experience preferred but not required
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, and other related heavy equipment preferred but not required
• Welding, brake press, shear, and/or machining experience preferred but not required
• Familiar with shop/fabrication drawings and blueprint interpretation preferred but not required
• Ability to maintain equipment preferred but not required
• High school diploma or GED
