Project Engineer - Mechanical

As a Mechanical - Project Engineer, you will provide design and maintenance support for equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes for all Paulo facilities. This includes the ongoing evaluation and upgrading of existing equipment and facilities as well as the design and development of new equipment to meet Company and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve day to day equipment problems.
  • Analyze processes and equipment to determine requirements, including consideration of function, reliability, maintenance, cost, and safety.
  • Design new heat treat, plating, material handling, etc., equipment. Oversee the fabrication and installation of that equipment.
  • Plan and execute projects or continuing programs which include the specification, purchase, compliance with applicable codes and installation of new equipment.
  • Design and implement modifications to existing heat treat, plating, heat transfer, material handling, etc., equipment.
  • Resolve problems during the start-up of new equipment and processes and establish routine operating parameters.
  • Complete and/or update mechanical, electrical, electronic and architectural AUTOCAD drawings needed for building and equipment documentation.
  • Develop documentation, operating manuals, and training aids for production equipment throughout the Company.
  • Purchase materials for various engineering department activities, particularly new equipment fabrication and installations and special maintenance concerns throughout the Company.
  • Travel to remote locations for design, implementation and support of Project Engineering initiatives. Travel rate is expected to be 25% or less but could be as high as 40%.

Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a similar or related role preferred.
  • Must have strong knowledge of mechanical systems and their design and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or Solid Edge preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

  • Valid drivers license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo's Vehicle Use Policy.
